You’ve probably heard me say a time or two, “everything happens for a reason”. I truly believe in the power of God’s timing and that He places people in your life for plans bigger than your own. Amy’s kidney journey proved to be such a huge testimony to this.

Growing up, Amy and I spent many of our weekends babysitting a young boy in our neighborhood. This same boy happened to fall in love with a girl who also lived down the street from us all. They got married, bought a house in Ft. Wright and have continued living there raising their 3 kids.

Earlier this year, this same couple, our former neighbors, reached out to us to ask about Amy’s kidney search. They saw our signs, our Facebook posts, ads in bulletins, and felt that they were meant to reach out to get tested to be a donor. Micaela was a match.

Through more extensive testing, the match wasn’t as exact as the doctors wanted it to be. Micaela and Amy then entered the National Kidney Registry as a pair in February and found out early April that there was a swap lined up - Micaela’s kidney would be going to California and Amy would be receiving her kidney the next day. This coming week, that exchange will happen.

Please pray for both Amy and Micaela as they undergo their surgeries and pray that their recovery goes smoothly. Please also pray for their doctors and their families. We can’t thank the Holbrook family enough for this selfless act of love. Micaela is truly a blessing and will forever be a huge part of our lives.

We would also like to thank the entire Northern Kentucky community for all of the support you’ve shown along the way. We are so appreciative of everyone who has shared our posts, put bumper stickers on their car, put signs in their yard, called to be tested, and prayed for the health and future of Amy. We wouldn’t be able to share this good news if not for the kindness and generosity of you all! God is good!

My daughter is getting very close to saying "yes to the dress"! Please consider saying "yes" to being a living kidney donor so that I can continue to share these special moments with my family.

Dear family and friends:

March is National Kidney Awareness Month!

Some of you may know that I have kidney disease. Over time, my kidney disease has gotten worse causing my kidneys not to work well enough to keep me alive. This is what I am facing now, and my treatment options are limited to dialysis treatments or a kidney transplant.

There are over 100,000 individuals currently waiting for a donated kidney in the US, and fewer than 25,000 will receive a transplant. That's why I have created this website -- to find my donor.  I will be posting updates here so you can follow my progress.  If you are not a potential donor, you can still help in my search for an eligible donor!

Please read My Kidney Story  and see How you Can Help.

With love and blessings,

Amy Kindt
